Lindsay A. Smith is a Senior Associate Attorney at Brill Immigration. She works closely with individual and corporate clients from around the world on a wide range of employment-based and family-based immigrant and nonimmigrant matters, including visa petitions, consular processing, issues with prior immigration violations, criminal waivers, adjustment of status, and naturalization applications.

For several years Ms. Smith was Associate Counsel at the US Citizenship and Immigration Services Field Office in Miami serving the agency across South Florida and the Caribbean by providing legal advice to adjudications officers, leading training sessions, liaising with other federal agencies, and representing the government before Federal Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Ms. Smith’s background is in humanitarian legal protection. She has worked as a refugee officer in East Africa and the Middle East, represented individuals seeking asylum along the US-Mexico border, organized with immigrant workers protesting labor abuses in South Florida, advised survivors of trafficking with the University of Michigan Law School’s Human Trafficking Clinic, and provided support to people seeking rights under European law as a student clerk at the AIRE Centre in London.

A graduate of Smith College, Ms. Smith received her JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She is highly proficient in Spanish. Ms. Smith is admitted to the practice of law in New York.
